Dr Jackie Taylor
MBBS MRCPCH CSST
Consultant Paediatrician, Cambridge Community Services
I am a general paediatrician with expertise in child development and believe in the holistic care of children. In a time when there are more and more potential medical investigations and clinical choices, the challenge is to select and prioritise the appropriate interventions for each individual child.
I trained at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne. After starting in general practice, I became interested in paediatrics and then continued my paediatric training at Great Ormond Street Hospital and in the North East London Deanery. I completed my general paediatric training in London, including a research period in Neuromuscular disease at the Hammersmith Hospital.
I was appointed as a consultant paediatrician in 2003 at Barnet and Chase Farm NHS Trust, where I was the Lead for Paediatric Epilepsy and Neurology Services, and was part of the development of services for children with complex neuro developmental difficulties.
In 2014 I moved to Cambridge and to join Cambridge Community Services as a Consultant Paediatrician. I have been planning and developing services and pathways for children with neurodevelopmental difficulties such as Autism, ADHD and Cerebral palsy, as well as more community-based general paediatric conditions.
I am married to a paediatrician and have three adolescent children.
